As of this week, I've been accepted to masters programs to study computer science at University of Pennsylvania, University of Delaware, Lehigh University and Drexel University. Now I have to decide where I want to go.

I got some good news on my voice mail this morning – my tax audit is unofficially over. I haven't mentioned it here before: The "Small Business Self Employed" division of the IRS audited the Schedule C of my 2005 tax return. It took about 2 months of mailing binders of documents back and forth between Washington and Pennsylvania, but the examiner has closed the case with no change – I accounted for every penny on my return.

It's been a week since I started working for Microsoft. So far, so good. The best part of this internship so far is the location. Washington is like one huge suburb. No matter how far I drive in any direction it's the same — beautiful homes spaced out among plenty of grass and trees, people riding bikes and jogging on sidewalks, cars all driving under the speed limits and stopping at crosswalks, and not even a cigarette butt littering the sides of the roads. Every few minutes you're skirting a big blue lake or staring at snow-topped mountains rising above the cloud line.
