This is the personal website of Dan Grossman, owner of Awio Web Services LLC and a graduate student at Drexel University. I use this site to share my thoughts on web development and internet marketing, to keep a log of my work on current projects, and to share advice about running an online business.
Awio is a one-man company — forming a company was more about convenience and tax benefits than necessity. I’ve developed and operate all of the websites on the Awio website, with dozens more having been created and sold to new owners. I’ve been creating successful websites since Website Goodies in 1997. I am self-funded and take on all roles including software design, development, testing, system administration, accounting, marketing, order processing, fraud screening and customer service.
I am one of the most active contributors at the SitePoint forums where over 300,000 web designers, developers and business owners meet to discuss design, programming and business. Over the past 9 years I’ve written over 18,000 posts, mostly helping to teach new developers PHP. I served as a community advisor to SitePoint and was expert editor for one of their books, the Website Revenue Maximizer Kit.
I enjoy Japanese pop music, science fiction movies, reading about physics and driving on highways with great views. I currently live in Philadelphia to attend Drexel University where I am pursuing a Masters degree in Computer Science with a focus on artificial intelligence and software design. I’ve worked as a software developer for Microsoft, DuPont, The Math Forum and Access 2 Vendors.
I have a resume I try to remember to update every once in a while.
