Looking for Sites to Advertise On

September 04 13 Comments Category: Marketing

WP Review Site keeps selling, so I keep advertising it. I’ve sponsored reviews by a dozen blogs and bought ad space on a dozen more. I listed it in the major script directories, the webmaster marketplaces, and the top webmaster forums. I have AdWords ads in place to reach the small amount of search volume there is for this type of software.

Can anyone suggest another good place to advertise WP Review Site?

  1. I don’t know if they have any currently available, but I think that Weblog Tools Collection (http://weblogtoolscollection.com/) would be a good audience to cater to.

  2. I agree, but they don’t do sponsored posts and have no ad space available.

  3. yeah it’s kinda hard NOT to have noticed WPreview at this stage :-) you’ve done a good job promoting it… only thing place i can think of (that webmasters would regularly visit) is ebay?

  4. I’m not sure if WordPress’ plugin repository allows for listing of commercial plugins, but it’s something to look at if you haven’t yet. I suppose you could always place the older version of it there (as it’s free) and mention the commercial one.

  5. The plugins hosted at wordpress.org have to be GPLed, which I’m assuming this commercial one isn’t, so the repository is probably a no go.

  6. Have you tried shoemoney yet ?

  7. Shoemoney wants $6000 to write a review of it. That guy’s insane and hasn’t written anything useful himself in months.

  10. I finally got around to reading Smashing Magazine’s “WordPress Developers Toolbox” article posted this month. In it, they provided a link to WPForSale, a “premium” template, plugin (etc…) site for retail WordPress accessories. Thought it was worth mentioning.

  12. Do a joint venture with theme sellers.
Get permission to resell their themes already configured in a theme pack.
Give them permission to sell your script if they want.

  13. I like Marcel’s idea of a collab. You could try WooThemes or even Brian Garder at Revolution themes. Both make great stuff.
