Website Goodies was my first personal website, originally created to share HTML tutorials 14 years ago.

WebsiteGoodies.com was my first domain — originally registered through Network Solutions at internic.org in 1996, with all of my saved allowance; I was 14 at the time. Initially the site was a set of HTML tutorials I wrote to share what I had learned. As I learned basic JavaScript and Perl programming, I developed free code generators and hosted services, which were the main attraction of the site in its early years. It was accompanied by a weekly e-mail newsletter called “Site Builder News”, the domain and archives for which I let expire some time ago.

I don’t actively work on the site anymore, though it still attracts moderate traffic to old articles and tools. I eventually abandoned the original HTML and Perl, developing a custom CMS for the site in PHP around 2000. In 2008, I stealthily moved the site to WordPress as the CMS aged; with a few custom plugins, I was able to maintain all the existing URLs and even keep the tools and services within the WordPress framework.
